How You Can Help

The donation needed to place Suri in Rotts of Friends is $1,500 USD. This cost will cover Suri's boarding, feeding, and training. It will also finance the time and effort taken to vet any possible individuals willing to adopt Suri to ensure that she is being placed in a home that will allow her to flourish. With your financial backing, we can give Suri the long and healthy life that she deserves despite how she entered this World.

Ways to donate:
1) Send a check or money order directly to Alec or myself
2) Transfer money directly using PayPal

Why is there no PayPal button in the blog?
When I was researching methods for possible donors to place their donations, I noticed that if I place a PayPal button directly on the blog, PayPal deducts $0.30 and 3% from each donation. To make sure that all of the money that you donate goes toward Suri's future, I have opted to have donors go to PayPal themselves to send money electronically rather than through the blog.

How do I send you money through PayPal?
To send your donation through PayPal, either login to PayPal or sign up. Once you are logged in, click on the second tab that says "Send Money." This will take you to a screen that will ask you for my email address and will allow you to submit your donation amount. Make sure to click "I'm Sending Money to Family or Friends" or PayPal will take a cut of your donation. When you are making your donation, it is best to link (and then verify) your bank account with PayPal; if you use your credit card when sending your donation, you will be charged a fee.

What happens if we don't meet our fundraising goal?
If Alec and I are unable to secure the funds needed to send Suri to Rotts of Friends, we will reimburse all of the money that was donated.

More About Suri

Suri was born June of 2011 and came from a family that took poor care of her. Her mother was chained in the yard while her siblings ran free in the gated front lawn. When we picked her up, she had scabs from her siblings on her head and we would eventually find out that she had Stage 4 ringworm that nearly cost her life. After a round of medicine, Suri was able to thrive in our South Sacramento home although her early months in North Sacramento in which she was the runt of the litter and was used more as a crime deterrent than a pet would have a lasting impact on her life.

Suri was quickly incorporated into the family by Maia our little peanut pup, Sookie the elder feline, and Baylee a similarly aged abandoned kitten. She loved running around the expansive backyard in South Sacramento and would continue her habit of running full speed around the yard once we moved into our home in Natomas.

In her two years, she has shown an incredible ability to love her mom and dad along with her siblings even though they didn't always get along. She is patient, kind, and loving with children. When Alec and I would babysit, Suri would lay next to the toddler and when she fell asleep, Suri would curl up at the end of the toddler's bed and fall asleep. She listens to commands and will wait until mom's command to eat her treat, often waiting up to three minutes with heavy traffic in the front room. In all, she is an amazing dog whom Alec and I love dearly. She has been a loving companion during the hard times and a festive and cheerful buddy during the happy times.
